NBA tweaks timeout rules.

It's a good thing we landed Cousins. When they had to play AD 37+ MPG those mandatory timeouts were pretty useful.

This could end up having an inadvertent effect on the small ball craze too. Fewer breaks in the action means fewer chances for small/fast paced squads to catch their breath.

I don't mind the timeouts, just quit letting them have full timeouts in the last 2 minutes. Give them 30 seconds, and don't go to a god damn commercial break. You don't need 3 minutes to draw up a play. 30-40 seconds is more than enough time.

They are also cutting preseason in half, moving up the season 10 days (I assume to have less back to backs).

The trade deadline should be moved up. Last year it was so late in the season that no moves made at the deadline could have a significant impact.
