I don't see us being better than GS or Denver without major injuries to Steph or Jokic. It's the same with the Clippers but Kahwi has an extensive injury history. The suns are shaky enough where if you promise me 75 games of Zion it becomes a possibility. Grizz Mavs and Twolves I feel are in the same tier as us.

I don't want the hype and want this team to sneak up everybody. So I want everybody to pick us as a bubble team. Give the team some great bulletin board material..

He’s right. If we are healthy, we are going to be very hard to guard. Pack the paint and we will feast outside. Go look at CJ’s numbers on open look 3s and Triggah is gonna make a jump.

Work the perimeter and Zion, BI, and JV are gonna feast.

They have 4 guys who can give you 20 in any given night easily. And a plethora of defensive wings and very solid depth.

The Pelicans should be in the mix to be one of the top Western Conference teams. People are overthinking this.

I think we could easily finish in top 4. Regular season is kind of a joke to some teams. Clippers might have the best team in the West, but given their attitude, mainly due to the attitude of certain key players, they could easily finish 6th or so. A team like the Grizz, on the other hand, seem to go full throttle from the git-go and might have the 6th or 7th best team, but still finish around 2 or 3 during the regular season.

I expect the Pels to be well above average on the "effort scale" during the regular season...which is why I think they might well finish in the top 4. And btw: I think the Pels will just be flat out better, than the Grizz, this year.

Only reason to doubt it would be the amount of talent in the west with teams getting healthy.

Golden State, Clip Show, Nuggets, Suns, etc look to be very good.

Problem for some of those teams are that guys like
Kawhi, Michael Porter Jr, etc, are injured a lot.

Grizzlies will be short JJJr for months.

If Ja has issues, they may come to earth for a while.

With JJJ and other members of the roster playing.

But if Ja and JJJ are out, they eventually have a lot of holes to fill.

A lot of people don't want to slot the Pels in very high because of history, and that's understandable. But we're in that 2nd tier of teams even if we're towards the back. The thing about tiers is talent doesn't usually decide where you are within that tier at the end of the year. It's usually things like injury, momentum, and schedule.

I'd be more surprised at the Pels being 9th than 2nd or 3rd. They should have enough depth to deal with injuries. I'm not saying I expect 2nd or 3rd, just that the Pels are built to succeed in the regular season with the depth and versatility that they have.

Pels are competing for top seeding if Zion is healthy. If Trey and Herb make jumps competing for a title.

grizz open without Jj jr.
they will be fortunate to get 6th.
they'll be trouble once he's blocking shots and drilling step in 3s.

this will be unpopular but I think Herb (and Jose even more) take a step back from the God mode they finished the season on

I think TM3 does leap forward, however

In the end I think adding a guy like Dyson Daniels takes some of the pressure off of Herb now that teams have 82 games of film on him

say why you think so.
based on what ideas?

for me they are totally different.

1. I will bet you herb is hall of fame inductee. first 30 seconds I laid eyes on him I knew he was the absolute real deal.

2. Joses will never start for a Wcf team. he's everyman.
just a guy with heart.
if he has to go 35 minutes he can't keep it up two weeks.

This is 100000% the IF thread

Starting with the thread title all the way down to the posters...

the amount of If's in this thread is crazy.

I might as well throw one in there.

IF I win the lotto, I'm buying the Pels
