not to be a pelssimist, but I just can't see Gordon ever doing anything to even remotely be worth what he is making.
The Peja contract we at least got some years out of him before the back went to complete shite and he was coming off great years when he signed with us. Peja was a necessary signing. We had to bring someone to us. The West move had killed the Hornets and we had a terrible run.
EG came in and we haven't been bottom of barrel and we panicked on the signing so people wouldn't feel Paul got away for free.
EG has never had Peja productivity but is a much better player at being injured. You realize we were making conditioning excuses for his poor play in the last week of the season? How long does it take to get in any type of shape?

That said...Please Gordon prove me to be completely wrong and have me sucking you off next year.

No he wasn't. The Kings got rid of his contract having no plans of resigning him and Peja missed the Pacers playoff run because, yep you guessed it, his back.

Years....before the Indiana year at sac he still avg over 20. A game (which was just the year after he got some MVP votes). While he missed 16 games that year that's still nothing compared to what we are use to.

I thought when he came to Nola from Indy he had the surgery already while with indy and was out for year when he was traded then signed and was ready togo. He played 77 games for us year after his surgery and contract.

He was also over 30 which was a big no no for large contracts.

It seems ridiculous, but that's what it looked like, both with the eye test and the stats being good early and bad late in games. Maybe it wasn't conditioning as much as an injury that he could play on for 15 minutes before becoming too painful. We know he's no Kobe when it comes to pain tolerance.

I'm not saying it was a good contract. I'm saying why they did it. Needed a name after horrid years that was established to at least pretend they were trying. Like most big contracts every one knew back end was going to suck.
But at least he was established. I'm saying EG was worse and even more of a panic signing than Peja because he has no history of showing the can be a great player.
