While we did not reach our ultimate goal of winning an NBA title, we embrace the goals in front of us and will continue to provide the resources necessary to, hopefully one day soon, raise a championship banner into the rafters.
Link to full letter.
Our Empress and true savior of our beloved New Orleans Pelicans, Mrs. Gayle, is about to spend tax money to bring LeKing to the Blender.

The second Lebron got here, he’d step on a pothole and tear his ACL.

I have always said Ms. B loves the Pelicans wayyyyy more than the Saints.
She has two teams on the brink of titles and wants to solidify Mr. B's legacy.
The Brinks truck is coming.

If we make even a little bit of progress next year I think we can all but guarantee keeping AD which will be incredibly massive.
As bummed as I am about losing this in 5 (would’ve liked 1 more win) the future is exciting as frick, sons.

Either Porter, George, or LeBoo will be in NOLA. Ms. Gayle wants a title.

If we get porter or George I’ll cum.
Something about LeBron being in NOLA doesn’t excite me. Don’t get me wrong I’d probably be ecstatic if we managed to pull it off but I’d rather the other two.

Idk what the obsession is with Otto Porter. Yeah he had a solid season. But we’re talking about trading one of the most talented NBA players in Cousins for Otto fricking Porter?
Common now.
If we’re talking about Paul George? Then that’s a completely different argument.

I don't believe the way the players and staff speak of her is just lip service; Nor have been the Benson's declaration of championship aspirations. Hopefully Dell and crew can work some trade voodoo and our star players can lure others to sign because the funds will be available if it means hanging a banner.

Otto Porter is a bonafide stud. Go check out his advanced stats and you'll be amazed. One of the best 3-point shooters in the league and a solid defender that has gotten better every year.
this is his 5th year in the league so he's an old man at 24 years old
however his negatives include his injury history. I don't know about it extensively but I know he's had a nagging injury all season and missed their last game against Toronto
quote:
the Wizards scored more points per possession with Porter on the floor than any other player, largely because he ranked third in the NBA in 3-point percentage. He canned 44.1 percent of over four attempts from distance per game, the second year in a row he’s hit at a top-five clip on moderate volume. That he almost never turns the ball over, even as his assist rate spiked to a career-high 10.1 percent, speaks to non-shooting growth, too.
quote:
According to matchup data estimates from Krishna Narsu, Porter was one of just eight players in the league to defend 600 or more possessions at point guard, shooting guard, small forward, and power forward
quote:
In the regular season, Porter spent 156 possessions guarding DeRozan (the most he spent on any one player), and DeRozan modestly under-performed relative to his season averages in that time (in terms of scoring efficiency and volume), per matchup data from NBA.com. He’s guarded him for 62 possessions through two playoff games, and despite DeRozan’s 37-point explosion in Game 2, DeRozan’s numbers are actually below his custom opposite Porter in the series – DeRozan’s scored just 13 points on those possessions, shooting 26 percent less often.

What about Kris Middleton? He is better then Porter imo and could be had since Milawukee underperformed.

Ownership and the “real” management want a title. That’s kind of important.

I see no way we can bring in Porter.
I still think the core of Holiday, Davis, and Cousins with impact support from Mirotic and Rondo as very formidable. Just need a solid complimentary 3 and D SF.

somebody would carry him where he needed to go

I agree 100% which is why I think the Pelicans will be aggressively seeking another significant player with the monetary backing from Mrs. Gayle. Seems as if she wants to honor Tom’s desire to bring an NBA title to New Orleans.
