. . . during this process? Is he being kept informed? Is he asked about his opinion on candidates? NBA ain't the NFL when it comes to this kind of thing.

His agent said he was going to let the Pelicans FO handle that completely.

Unless he's inserting himself into the loop I don't see why he would be. Players make horrible GMs. We see it in every case of teams so desperate to make things up they let the star player make the mess bigger before they leave.

I guarantee you that every candidate has been asked how they'd build around AD and maximize AD and whoever makes the best case will win and then they'll tell AD the wonderful plan and it will probably sound like a great idea to him. They know what AD can do and what he likes and doesn't like. As long as they respect that during the process he'll be fine.

Other than the fact that the future of NBA basketball in N.O. may depend upon keeping him happy, I would agree.

I agree.

You may very well be correct. I hope so.

BTW, I'm not suggesting that AD should be part of the "hiring committee" or anything. But I wouldn't think it a bad thing if he were kept abreast of the process.

the dude is 22 yrs old
I couldn't be trusted with a lunch decision when I was 22
he's staring at 200 million dollars, he's about to be the best player on the planet and he's a good dude

I'd say no matter who they hire Davis will figure out how to relate
when he's nearing the end of contract 2 is when you ask AD who he wants

Neither could I. I think that AD will be fine with the hire, and I'm not saying that he has anything like "veto power". I wouldn't be surprised if he, at the very least, was receiving info that we sure as shite aren't.

Everyone needs to realize at the end of the day; whoever the coach we hire, Anthony Davis will still be gettiing the ball almost every possesion down. He will be the focal point of any coaches offense, and he will accept any coach being the player he is and roll with what they say without causing a mess with social media. Redardless of what he actually thinks.

From who is being interviewed, I'd say probably not. Looks like Dell is interviewing everyone. He will probably talk to Loomis, AD, Jrue and maybe a few others once he has a short list. IMHO.

All I know about AD is from my old man's conversations with Joel Myers at the gym a few times (side note as most know Joel is pretty damn awesome and really likes interacting with the fans). Joel told him that AD really does love the NO and he really doesn't see him aspiring to go someplace "bigger". Also, that if Pels get more national TV games (which they should after AD's performance in the playoffs) then he really won't need to go somewhere "bigger" bc he will have the national exposure.

I know CSB!

I've met Joel and his wife a couple of times at the games (they maintain seats near mine). Very nice people. He said the exact same thing about AD. Of course, Joel and his wife love N.O. as well (other than bailing back to California for the hot summer, but who can blame them).
