Nothing of great insight. Just a semi-soused rambling.

The Pelicans screwed the pooch at some crucial times during the series, and that probably prevented a 4-2 result. But make no mistake about it, Golden State is a better team. Faster, better/more consistent shooters and more experienced.

However, the this series was good for our guys in terms of experience. I would be really surprised if Asik, Gordon, Anderson and Evans are all on the team next season. I think there will be more of a roster shake up than we may have thought. The good news is that we will not be a cap strapped as we've feared.

I'm not sure what will happen with Monty and Dell. I guess the logical thought is that Monty will at least be here until his contract runs out in a year.

This team and the franchise as a whole has great potential, but it's crucial that we don't lose the momentum. Next season is crucial. We can't lose momentum.

Okay, anyone want a drink?

We are going to be boned as a team in terms of being a contender if these two needs arent solved:

1. Having a big man who can make average offensive level NBA caliber plays, i.e. hold onto the ball, layups, put backs

2. Having a smart PG who can penetrate, force the d to collapse, and dish. Running the offense in general to get people where they need to be.

Yeah. But if we let Asik go, I hope his replacement can at least rebound and defend close to his level.

Don't you think Holiday fits the bill?

I think he is very average at it. Part of it is coaching though. Players arent moving where they should when he drives. blame our guards for some of it and our coaching for the rest.

eta: And I know Curry is a God, but the way he runs golden states offense when he has the ball makes me so jealous. And then i have fond memories of CP3 and then i look at our offense move and im like blegh....its so...slow...and... not smart

I think with some coaching our team could be okay the way it is now, how ever if we can shore up some issues, I have no problem with that. But our terrible shot selection, lack of applying proper basketball principles and hustle, are all things that a good coach should be able to get from his players with a few short words. I think he may be too much of a friend and people aren't afraid to disappoint him.

Evans and Anderson should be shopped hard. It would be nice to upgrade Asik, but there are minimal options available.
