Hate to mess with what's been working.

Plus it would be a nice way to slowly work him back into the rotation and keep him mins under 30.

I doubt that happens. Could see Tyreke running the 2nd unit.

I wish we wouldn't have a "2nd Unit". I am tired of Monty clearing the bench with mass substitutions.

No. Tyreke to the bench to lead the 2nd unit

Tyreke with Ryno off the bench gives us two starting caliber players in the 2nd unit. That would be extremely helpful.

Honestly there really shouldn't be a "2nd Unit" back court when Jrue returns. 95% of the time 2 of our big 3 guards should be on the floor. QPon could fill the other mins with DC staying in at the SF.

When Jrue returns, we shouldn't need to play anyone other than Reke, EG, Jrue, QPon, DC, AD, Ryno, and Asik. Those 8 have a ton of position flexibility so we won't have to overwork any of them.

That would make too much sense for Monty. Monty feels like he has to have a 2nd unit

With this team's youth they should be able to handle all the minutes with the roster's top 8 players.

It really wouldn't be all that many mins. All 3 guards can play either PG or SG so they can divide the 96 backcourt mins. DC and QPon can split the 48 SF mins. AD, Ryno, and Asik can split the 96 front court mins (Obviously AD would get more than the other 2).

Thibodeau likes what you're saying.

What about Wolters? Just rots the bench. Or, does he get Rivers-type minutes?

If Wolters plays when EG,Reke, and Jrue are healthy, people should immediately start booing Monty!

QPon at SG would be a much better option.

let's not overreact too much...we have beat the 3 worst teams in the league with 1 quality win...don't start benching our best players just yet

Benching is not what I was getting at. More keep his mins diwn while he works back into things.

We have 3 guards that are really good. 2 of the 3 need to be on the floor at all times when healthy. While Jrue works his way back in shape Reke and EG can play bigger mins (basically what they are playing now).

"When Jrue returns, we shouldn't need to play anyone other than Reke, EG, Jrue, QPon, DC, AD, Ryno, and Asik."

I like this as your main 8 and then I would make room for these two to getting relatively small minutes: Fredette (like his energy and the ball moves) and Ajinca (I think you need one more big getting PT and he seems like an obvious choice over Withey). I don't think I would play anyone else in non-blowout situations.

Agreed on Ajinca - he should see 8 min a game as a big who can spell Asik @ the 5 b/c I don't want AD having to play many min. there. He's been effective as a offensive threat in the post recently.
