Jrue signed deal for 126 millions guaranteed, with incentives which can increase its value up to 150 millions.

Per Eric Pincus it starts from 24,67 millions and goes as high as 26 millions

We are all assuming that those incentives are 'unlikely'. But it is not assured.

Per CBA
- Bonuses deemed unlikely to be achieved are limited to 15% of the base salary in each season of the contract at the time of signing. All bonuses are re-evaluated at the end of each season, to determine whether they should be reclassified as likely or unlikely.
Per Cap expert A. Nahmad -
- NBA determines whether a bonus is deemed likely or unlikely to be achieved based on whether the criterion was achieved in the previous season. For example, if a player averaged 7.0 assists per game in 2016-17, then a performance bonus for 2017-18 based on 7.0 assists per game would be classified as “likely to be achieved” (and included in the player’s cap hit), but a bonus based on 8.0 assists per game would be classified as “unlikely to be achieved” (and not included in the player’s cap hit). Therefore, it’s rather easy to structure a bonus for a guy like Waiters, who played just 46 games last season, which might be considered unlikely to be achieved but, in reality, seem imminently achievable.

So Jrue has guaranteed 126 millions
15% of this amount MIGHT be unlikely- it is 18,9 millions

so from 24 millions - 18,9 millions are unlikely. so 5,1 should be likely.

so at least additional 1 million/year might be included in his salary. at least.

Those estimations are based on data given by now.
of course it all may differ..

but it may not
and this deal may look worse

I am not going to attack Dell - just share my thoughts while having just pieces of data.
I am archaeologist. I am working on only pieces of data and making assumptions...

And also - you guys are saying: 'we will send a pick to attach to Asik and we will clear space'.

Yes - those deals happen, but sometime it is hard to shed salary.

Take Miami Heat and Josh Mc Roberts (one year 6 millions guaranteed). --->>> Per Albert Nahmad.
Heat sent Mavs its full $5.1M cash allotment for the season + its 2023 2nd in McRoberts ($6.0M expiring) for Hammons (2/$2.9M guaranteed) trade.

so Heat gave up future 2nd rounder, 5,1 millions in cash and took 2,9 millions in guaranteed money. Because they had to clear cap space to sign Olynyk.

so teams knew that Heat have to do it.

I just say that teams will know that we want to dump contracts - will it be Asik, QPon or Ajinca. And sometimes it is not simple to dump salary.

Of course first rounders help. Second rounders not so often...

Actually, in your defense pawel...commas are used instead of periods when doing accounting/financial statements

Good info and insight

Not in every country. Pawel has to convert feet and inches to meters and centimeters when trying to figure out how big a player is, I think we can accommodate him on his usage of commas vs. periods.
