It was much funnier because the Pels were waxing the Raps. But had it been close or Pels were losing, it would have been annoying which leads me to believe it wouldn't had happened if that was the case.

I will never understand why the Lakers let Joel go. Insane. He is one of the best at play by play.

Pretty sure it was right around the time of all the Jeannie Buss toxic workplace stuff, but I could be misremembering. I'm just glad they made an obviously massive mistake that resulted with one of the smallest markets having the best pbp guy in the Association.

What I remember reading happened was they switched networks to Time Warner and they wanted to go with someone younger.
