while i was all aboard with the tank this year. hell no being a playoff team next year would show elite FA we are on the verge of being a contender with a very young roster. tanking would not attract the FA we need to compete

Sure he didn't mean one who served in the military, like the Florida State guy drafted by Dallas?

How am I crazy the guy can be an elite center with some coaching help, and that's not overpaying a center

i was being sarcastic. it is going to cost way too much money to acquire McGee. especially when he probably won't even be in the game when the game is on the line.

No thanks to McGee.

No reason to go out and spend big money on FA's until the team is on the verge of being a title contender. McGee wouldn't do that. Can't cripple the franchise for future moves because money is invested in someone like McGee.

If we go after a big name, I hope it's Brook Lopez.

I'm tempted to do that just to frick with Brooklyn.

If they tie up a bunch of money in Lopez, Deron, and Wallace, then they can't easily sign anyone else.

Your point?

I don't think a team that's not ready to compete for a championship next season, the Hornets, should potentially hamstring the franchise's future by throwing big money at a FA this offseason, McGee. You don't spend money to spend money, and you don't spend money to be a 6 seed. You spend money when the time is right.

That being said, if the front office does intend to make a splash in FA this offseason for whatever reason, I hope it's with Brook Lopez as when he's healthy he's a top five player at his position in the League and relatively young.

We have the cap space now to go after someone like Lopez. If you can add a player of his caliber now, then why wait till next year? We have a chance to be very good this season. No reason to be patient just for the sake of being patient.

Yea I also want Lopez but I thought McGee would have been a realistic chance, but if we can get Lopez I'm all for it
