handshake bet
i will buy you a 750ml bottle of your choice up to $75 if pierre jackson is traded for a first round pick

if he's traded for a 2nd rounder, you do the same

if he's not traded or if he's flipped for a player or cash, bet's off

deal?

Me saying it's not unreasonable is very different from me saying I'm so sure it's going to happen I'll bet $75 on it. I'm honestly more curious about what Demps thinks he can do with a late 1st. Many people consider an early 2nd better than a late 1st simply because there isn't much separation in the talent level but a good bit of difference in the contract.

To be fair, there have been d league MVPS that no one ever knew existed, and no ones heard of since.

That said, he did look impressive in some of his highlights I've seen.

fair enough, but he does not currently have one, and i completely disagree that jackson would net one. honestly, i doubt he'd get a 1st for austin rivers right now (i certainly wouldnt trade one for him)

realistically there is no player on the roster worth a 1st outside of the first 6

Depends. Teams with picks in the very late part of round 1 (especially teams with multiple picks) may take a shot on a young player rather than rookies on guaranteed contracts. Jackson has the advantage of being a 2nd round pick that can be signed to a partially guaranteed or unguaranteed contract.
