Ahhh so if Q-Pon is good it was a good move. Great opinion! Thanks for sharing that with us!

Qpon doesn't have to be great. Just give us some quality minutes and fill a need. Maybe he'll surprise us. In a good way.

a multi-position defender that will add toughness

and that is literally all we need from this trade.

Key sentence. He gives position flexibility and defense. We have scorers and offensive playmakers. We need role players specifically at the SF.

Found a video with QPon in college, from the vid he's a super legit guy, real chill and funny. And fun fact, he played with jrue's brother in Washington!

So if all else he's not a negative in the locker room

Edit: forgot to include the link!

This deal was more about the construction of the Pels 2nd Unit. With Gordon back, Evans moves into a bench general role. If AR is on the court, there are huge spacing problems because they are both slashers. That makes Pondexter a better fit. He's a shooter and spaces the court much better than AR can. With Evans-QP-Babbitt-Anderson-Whoever, the floor widens for Evans to go to work with that 2nd unit because of all the shooters that defenses will have to account for.
This trade scares the hell out of me though because it means the Pels are banking on Eric Gordon's health to hold out. If he's on that first unit for the rest of the season, this trade makes a ton of since. If he goes down again...Oh brother our 2nd unite becomes a nightmare w/o AR.

A number on here were jizzing in their britches when they heard the trade news and I didn't, and still don't, get it.

Best case: I think his ceiling is about earning what's his contract. Not a horrible deal but certainly nothing to get excited over.

I'm pretty excited. Good IQ, good energy, good defender. We added another legit NBA player to the roster.
