I sure hope so. If getting under the tax is the top priority, then LOL at our poverty franchise.

That's a terrible fricking trade.

So we lose our best defensive big for another PG who is maybe marginally better than Jose?

I hope so too, but would it really surprise you if that was the directive? It's a $15M decision as it stands now, and if they add anyone of significance it becomes even more of a loss for Gayle. It's not my money, so I hope they go for it, but I'd be surprised.

Nope, not at all.

I mean, if we explore all options to upgrade and nothing makes sense, that's cool...unload Kira and get under the tax. But that should be the fall back plan, not THE plan.

Last I saw, it’s about $23.5 million per the likely 22 teams not over luxury tax, assuming the Pels and Lakers duck under. I’m sorry, but it’s a business and yes that should be a priority. Not even getting to repeater tax etc.

No, if we're healthy and winning, then we have to take a shot at actually winning a title

We don't plan to duck under the tax and hope that we're healthy and good next season. Because we probably won't be healthy.

Gayle can do whatever she wants in that regard, it's her franchise.

What she can't do is make moves to duck the tax when we look like a top 4 team in the West AND tell us winning is a priority, because it would not be.

Interesting they would package Nance Jr. and Kira. Im ok with this depending if its an upgrade or significant move- if its just a random move to duck the tax and get a random rotation guy- thats dumb.

Do not have much confidence in that "source." Likely just guessing like the rest of us and Nance's contract is the only one of significance that any one can point to in a deal.

Think Tyus is viewed as a pretty major upgrade from Jose, but I like Jose too and think he's a culture setter which you don't necessarily want to mess with. Again, I'm ok with no deals and just seeing how this line up plays out. But for kicks, what about this trade...

Pels Trade:
-Larry Nance
-Kira Lewis
-First Round Pick (Lakers, top-10 protected?)

Hawks Trade:
-Onyeka Okongwu
-Saddiq Bey(alt: Kobe Bukin/Patty Mills)

Is he one of the bloggers/podcasters? I seriously doubt he’s developed sources none of the other guys on the beat have. He probably is just repackaging the trade rumors he sees online.
