Hawkins barely played in the 2nd q and didn't play the 3rd at all.

Dude misses two 3s and Willie yanks him because he wanted to go heavy defense.

Goddammit Willie

I love Hawk. But he wasn’t doing anything this game bro.

I agree. Willie had him glued to the bench

Willie thinks these games require more defensive players. Yet we always get destroyed. Everytime we play a contender

Same thing with Denver, clippers, Minny. Hawkins barely played.

The Sun’s announcers are incredulous that Willie pulled out Hawk.

Ever since that Mavs game where him and Hawk dominated I feel JV has lost some juice. Doesn’t seem the same.

Why is that so hard to imagine? Is it likely? Probably not. However, it is certainly possible. Booker and Hawkins rookie years are somewhat similar so far and both drafted around the same area of the draft. Booker was much younger entering the NBA though.

The other day it was Curry now we’re comparing him to Devin Booker. You guys need to stop. He’s a good young player but you guys are putting unrealistic expectations on him.

I don't think anyone is comparing him to Booker. Rather I think they are saying he could become our Booker. Again, maybe not likely, but he has potential.

So you’re saying he has the potential to become the pelicans version of a franchise guard who has scored over 40 points 27 times, 50 or more 6 times and scored 70 in his career, while also leading his team to the NBA Finals?

I absolutely love Hawkins but these potential comparisons of what a rookie guard can become have gotten out of control. The comparisons of his potential are now Ray Allen, Steph Curry and now Booker.

No one is saying he’s going to become these hall of famers, everyone is just saying he has the Potential to become that. He’s got the “it” factor, his BBQ is very advanced for a rookie, he has supreme confidence for a rookie that doesn’t seem to get derailed by DNPs or a g league trip, he’s an incredible movement shooter, he’s got an ultra quick release, he’s shown that he can get to his spot off the bounce and get his own shot, he’s shown flashes that he can drive.

It’s ok to think that he can get there, nothing wrong with that. The fans are excited, that’s the fun part of being a fan, dreaming of what a guy could become that’s exciting.
