A couple cliffnotes:
Thought about trading up in the draft, but ultimately nothing worked out.

Ingram has always spent every offseason just working out and never really played any basketball until training camp, so they’re pretty excited about seeing how he comes in already being in basketball shape.

Herb signed his contract then immediately went to Las Vegas to be with the young guys. He’s insisted on participating in practices with the guys and has been a mentor to them.

Zion will be joining Herb, Trey and the others in Vegas today.

A few teams called about Zion, but they were shut down quick. The only reason teams called is they seen the injuries and was seeing if team would move him, but they quickly realized he is a franchise cornerstone and is not going anywhere.

Aaron Nelson is indeed in a different role with the organization, kind of made it sound like he’s not involved with training? Still hasn’t revealed the changes to the training/medical staff.

Pretty much all I heard that was noteworthy.

Herb is the guy you want all your players to be like. Quiet with an insane work ethic and great attitude. He’s still humble even though he’s a multimillionaire now. Hopefully he finally gets a new car though. He was still driving his college car as of sometime last year when that story came out on him and how frugal he lives. He will have a 15 year career if he chooses to play that long. Defense is an attitude as much as a skill and he will have that long after a scorer’s prime would fade away. He will always make his money from his defense.

Was it Chris Haynes saying he was available just a few days ago? Lol

Let me preface this by saying I actually think Griff has done a good job as GM.

Now with that being said, we all know Griff can be quite the snake oil salesman. What we're we expecting him to say? That yeah Xion is on the block.

I do believe a good bit of what Chris Haynes was saying. Haynes pretty much repeated what was said for a week & a half prior to the draft. There was too much smoke around Zion being on the block for a chance at Scoot.

Once those rumors got out, I'm sure teams did their due diligence and called to see.

Am I gonna believe any GM or a “reputable” reporter who talks to multiple teams.

I would like to hear what those teams offered for Z, whether they called or received calls.

As long as the car is in good shape he may as well drive it for a while.

Not like he needs it when on road trips with the team and a POS car is less likely to get him jacked in NOLA.

It's mid July, not sure what else to expect him to say here.

Temple is a perfect exampleb of this, and I'm not sure it's coincidental

I mean griff isn’t going to come out and say “we’re shopping zion” even if he was he would never say that. Chris Haynes said “zion could be available for the right package” which isn’t a crazy thing to say.

Here's Griff on the Pels radio broadcast during the Summer League game yesterday.

LINK

He said Dyson is like Herb in that they have to kick him out of the gym. He said the Sports Science team tracks load management and Dyson is "far exceeding everybody else in the in the gym right now".

Trey Murphy thinks of himself as a starter now and you can't have 6 of them [starters] - in reference to it should be a competitive training camp with guys fighting for minutes.

Robbins won't be cleared until mid-late August. Said they'll consider him for a 2 way.

In talking about Cody Zeller he compared him to Nance as a switchable 5 that's a connector on offense.

He also said that because of the history with Borrego he's familiar with the system they're going to run, which is further confirmation that they will be installing Borrego's offense.

Haynes is also saying NOTHING because every player is available for the right package.

It's stirring the pot just to stir it.

Again , I don’t believe any GM, in any pro sport. Not good or bad way, just think part of their job is to “deceive”.

I’m just curious what the Zion offers are, regardless who picked up phone first.
