You know you are a good player when the biggest gripe they have on you is... steal percentage

I would take Embiid 1st, Wiggins 2nd because he can already be a lock down defender and the rest will develop.

Even though Randle plays for UK, I see another TRob like player, a guy who can physically dominate college kids who will struggle against true size.

Hell, TRob wasn't impressed with Anthony Davis and thought he should have been the #1 pick

What do you know? You didn't even make the "cool crowd" list.

my exact thoughts. well, at least its what i've been saying! t-rob is better than randle in everything from size to skills/production and the league doesn't see him good enough for major minutes.

Give Randle two more years of development

A lot of Robinson's problems in the league have been chalked up to lack of effort. The fact that two teams shipped him away almost immediately speaks to that.

Yep. Let's compare the 2 in two years. But Randle ain't waiting til his junior year like Robinson, so that won't be a fair comparison either.

Thomas Robinson is going to be a good player once he gets a chance to play. Dude is still a beast and only 22

Look at all the rookies last year; most of them sucked. Robinson was stuck behind some solid vets in sacramento's frontcourt, either way.

Now he's stuck behind LA. Rob's per 36 puts him at 16/11 this season. He's only getting 11 mpg considering LA logs huge minutes. Not sure that he isn't hustling.

bump. only because randle is not that good. watching the uk/lsu game and he aint got shite on johnny o'bryant on the offensive end and jordan mickey won't let him do anything productive on the offensive end.

nope. this a legit test of how he would fair. mickey is a great defender and job is almost as effective on the other end. man the frick up and do something. watch how he barely wants the ball.

Zach Randolph averaged 11/7 his freshman year at MSU before bolting for the NBA. He couldn't get on the floor his first two years in the league.

By the same token, Randle is averaging 17/11 and almost leads the NCAA in double doubles. It's your own damn fault for listening to the media and thinking you have to crown these dudes as the best players ever. We are talking about a raw freshman. Averaging a dbl dbl.

4s who rely on their size and strength in college often struggle in the NBA early on. It's probably the hardest position to transition to from college to pros. They are now matching up against similar size players. It takes time for them to learn and adjust. LA, David West, David Lee, Paul Millsap, etc... none of those dudes stepped in and dominated right away. shite, LA was a 2 year guy at UT, West and Lee played 4 years of college, Millsap played 3 years.

It takes time. People are going to be quick to call Randle or any other a freshman entry a bust (Austin Rivers?). You have to let them develop. Guys like Thomas Robinson, who can't get on the floor behind LA, is a double double player in the NBA waiting to happen if he gets starter minutes.

point well taken. but with all the shitty managements and bad team building, something like a raw 6-8/235 less athletic pf will only end up as rotating trade bate. duncan, AD, love, LA, bosh, amare, pau, ibaka have set a standard that i think randle with struggle to reach. i just don't see him being productively efficient against the pros until he gains weight and his game evolves. therefore not worth the high pick.

I don't know if any of these guys are the next great star player we thought they would be. AD dominated in college and you knew he would be great. If LeBron went to college, he would have dominated too. I don't see Wiggens, Parker or Randle (who all went to loaded rosters) dominate like a true star would. Instead, you've got people talking about guys like McDermott, Smart and Exum.

That being said, they all have talent and potential and there is a lot of that in this class with guys like Embiid, Saric, Gordon, etc.
