well he doesn't owe anyone anything

but as a fan, I have the right to be upset when EG was at Hornets draft workouts, using the Alario Center like it's his home and then says something dumb like he did

I am fine with someone liking one place over the other, no problem. I just feel like he said something that really didn't need to be said UNLESS he is attempting to send a message and it certainly seems like he is doing just that

Well, let's look at a similar example...

In 2008, Josh Smith signed an offer sheet of 4 years/58 million with Memphis and asked Atlanta NOT to match.

Well, fast forward to 2012. Smith is still with the Hawks and is actually now trying to recruit D12 to play with him down in ATL.

It's not all doom and gloom.

The message he's attempting to send is "See Dell, I told you my market price was 4/$58." It's been pointed out on another board that if he signs the offer sheet it will be obvious that this was all an act about getting the money because he knows the Hornets will match and he can't be traded to Phoenix. The only way he gets to play "where his heart is" is through a S&T or taking the QO.

If we see a S&T or he signs the QO then come back and call me out, I'll openly admit that I was wrong to think it was all about the money. But if he signs that offer sheet I want you to come back and admit that you were wrong to assume that not even $58 million would be enough to get Eric Gordon to play for the Hornets.

Yep people think we HAVE to trade him which we dont. He'll get over not going to phoenix in a year or so (especially if we start winning)

Smith actively wanted out until Ferry came in and cleared a shite-ton of cap room by using the Jedi Mind Trick on Brooklyn and Utah.

*Waves hand* You will take Joe Johnson's contract. And convince Jordan Farmar to take a buyout at 50%.

I understand and agree that we should keep him regardless where his heart is but don't pretend like this was all an act by EJ. He actually wants to play in phx over NOLA. I know this for a fact not because of his statement but because he asked dell not to match the offer. That shows me he actually wants to go to Phx.
