....then fire Williams TODAY. No NBA star sticks around on losing teams nowadays. Period. They would rather play for less money and a chance to play with their boys vs. Losing.

You will see how serious the Sainticans are about retaining Davis for the future. Lip service or actual action.

Get off your arse Loomis and Benson.

Its gonna happen. Like you said, if you want to keep AD around, it needs to happen. Keep in mind though, Monty is a player's coach, he can be a likeable coach to his players. So I'm not sure if AD even wants him gone. But its what's best for him and us, and needs to happen.

AD actually likes Monty a lot unfortunately.

But he'll like winning more if the right coach is brought in.

Hell, I like him as a person. He seems like a really cool guy. Just not cut out for the league unfortunately

There have been multiple stories in the past about how much AD loves Monty and credits him with his improvement.

Could be PR BS, could be a lot of things, but thats all we can go on.

No they want him to go play somewhere else. Benson doesn't understand his eyebrow.

He has allegedly freaked out about people kissing his wife (euro greeting style) and I believe complained about Halloween decorations. I'd say he's more an over reacting holy roller than a dick.

I know this one. Guy who knows Monty's wife and kids very well ran into them at a restaurant. Shook Monty's hand and gave his wife a kiss on the cheek (as EVERYONE does in NOLA). Monty was pissed and called the guy and threatened him.

We have him locked up for a awhile. When he turns in to a RFA we can offer him the biggest contract possible. If he for some illogical reason turns that down then we can match and offer from any team (which would be for less than the previous offer)

He could take the QO and become a UFA after that and we wouldn't have ability to match. That has NEVER happened for a superstar player.

Tell me one player that has turned down a max extension to play for the qualifying offer.

We will sign him to max for 2017-2021 for about $15M-$16M per depending on the cap raise. The hard part will be extending him past 2021 or resigning when he's unrestricted.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting, but didn't Lebron do this when he left for Miami?

Haha no they didn't, he's talking about the first max extension, where if you don't take it you have another year of your rookie salary and then are an UFA and get a max offer from another team and take that.

No it isn't. LeBron was on his 3rd contract and Unrestricted Free Agent, he took 6 years at $15ish instead of 6 years at $18ish. AD will be on his 2nd contract, a Restricted Free Agent choosing between 1 year at $9 million and 5 years around $140 million when the new TV money comes in. I wrote this explaining his contract situation before the new TV deal so it's an even bigger pile of money he'd be walking away from, but the basic principles of why AD will happily sign his contract extension remain the same LINK /
