It would be crazy to do, but it would be the right thing to do. Blatt is a much better coach than Gentry.

He put up a fight without two star players against a historically awesome team

Spurs will make him an assistant

David Blatt would be perfect for the Pelicans. Remember, he was brought to Cleveland to help build a TEAM in the same way he built teams in Europe. But when LeBron left Miami to go to Cleveland, the dynamics of the Cavs' team changed. This isn't a hit on Lebron or Blatt, just saying the dynamics changed.

Blatt is built to create TEAM chemistry, which can be done in New Orleans. Sure, the Pels may still need to move some players out and bring some in, but with Blatt, who is focused on a team effort, we have a much better chance of creating a winner.

He had Gentry's spot on the Warriors before he accepted the Cavs job.

I could see him ending up back in GS. Spurs seem pretty set at main assistant positions but Blatt is certainly a Pop type of guy.

If you want to go with successful European coaches go with the one who was the king and has been working with Pop for years - Ettore Messina - over David Blatt.

Bench coach, why not? But I doubt he would take that.
