If zion can't run point in crunch time go find a guard that can, I nominate Jose

They can't stop anyone. They are 4th to last in DRtg in the clutch.
They can't score. They are 3rd to last in ORtg in the clutch.
Overall, a pleasant 3rd to last in NetRtg at -26.3
Denver is in 1st with a +24.3
We have the highest TO rate in the league in the clutch, and to combat that, we are also in last in creating turnovers on defense.

We are also dead last, by a wide margin in FT% in the clutch at 59%, and we are in the top 10 in FTA's in the clutch. 2nd to last place is shooting 68%
we are 22% from 3 in the clutch, good for 4th to last.

Don’t get me wrong- a lot of this is on players but there needs to be some responsibility by the coaches here. Weird rotations, no set plays, timeouts not called, wrong personnel- this is a huge detriment on Willie as it is on the players. The fact its still an issue and isn’t getting better is even more telling.

The wonders Trae young would do for this team. It would suck losing CJ but Trae young fixes much more problems than CJ does (on the court)

What’s worse is that “clutch” is essentially a whole playoff game. Defense gets tighter and refs let you get punched in the mouth. The team is soft.

When you are not in condition you tend to fall a lot. For sure, Zion is in better condition but it's always going to be struggle North of 280+ on his frame.

The problem is as good as CJ had been hes not a point guard and more of an off guard/combo guard player. Zion just doesn’t have a tight enough handle or the experience in these clutch situations. This team desperately needs a veteran point guard in the form of a Mike Conley. I know people may not be a fan but I would go after Kyle Lowry if hes bought out. His experience would very much be needed.

This is painful to read but matches perfectly with what I’ve seen. Thanks … I guess.

This is the biggest indictment on a coaching staff that I have seen. When the game slows down at the end of close games, coaching and strategy becomes much more important. Players and teams need to have a clear vision, with a clear hierarchy, and clear options. We have none of this in clutch moments. They don't know if Zion should have the ball, they don't know if BI should have the ball, they don't know if CJ should have the ball and all 3 want the ball. The turnovers are making the defense crater. This coaching staff has to do a much better job moving forward and establish a clutch time identity (outside of BI taking contested mid range jump shots). We can look at the end of each quarter last night as an example of we have nothing to go to when we need it.

Pels need to beat up on some bad teams so we can repress all the severe flaws.

I honestly wouldn’t hate it. As much as we boo that fricker, this team could desperately use his win at all costs attitude.

he might want to try a different attitude, that one hasn't worked out for winning a title.

Sure. But we’re talking about our franchise that is desperately trying to get out of the first round with this core. I think he would help with that.
