“This has been a drama for a long time,” said Rod Mickler, vice president and network head of Cox Sports Television. “This past summer, we made a very concentrated effort again to get back in front of Charter. We are in talks. I can’t tell you that there’s a deal that’s done, but we went for a while where we were just really at an impasse.

“To say that I’m optimistic that an agreement is going to be done quickly, probably not. What I am optimistic about is we are actually talking back and forth again. Certainly the fast start of the Hornets has helped pick that back up again.”

I will give Direct TV (which I cannot stand) 30 days from the day Charter gets CST. If Direct doesn't have CST by that point, I am gone. I don't care what the cancellation fee is.

I love it that Cox is the only place to watch Hornets games. This boil water notice in New Orleans is making me crazy. Knowing I can watch the Hornets play the Kings tonight is the only thing getting me through the day. And beer.

I think the new Cox-Charter deal is set to be signed the same day Chouest signs the final papers to become majority owner.

I hope they get this done before Christmas break so I can watch the games when I go home. I guess that's not likely though
