Last few times I've done it I've come up with Shabbaz for us at pick 6. I dont know about you guys but I would be thrilled with this. Shabbaz has a world of potential and Monty knows the SF position so well, seeing that he played it himself, he could mold this young guy into a star. Our core of Gordon, AD, and Shabbaz would be unreal. Then you mix in Vasquez and Rhyno. And Rivers developing into something even decent would be a bug plus.

If we got him at 6, I'd need a hand towel or sock.

Shabazz is a pick on just talent. If the Hornets need someone who will contribute immediately and whose game is continually progressing I would draft Kelly O from Gonzaga or if we are going to draft on talent & youth pick up the kid from OSU who looks like a young Chris Paul on the court. Shabazz is too sporadic in his play and won't develop for another 3 or 4 years.

Shabbaz has the potential to be a player that can be a closer for championship calibur teams IMO. Can't pass that up. Especially at pcik #6 in the draft

Shabazz has the wrong attitude. Do not want. How can you not be happy for a teammate when he hits a gamewinner. We don't need someone like that.

Guess you don't want to win a championship either.

The guy is still young and immature. You cant expect these players to be picture perfect

I'm running it a bunch of times to try to compile a Hornets "Big Board" based off of who we pick given options (ie if Len, Porter, and Shabazz are available, it has us taking Len. If he is gone, we go Porter, etc.):

This seems to be what I'm finding:

Smart
*McLemore
Len
Porter
Shabazz
Oladipo

This list is clearly not complete, but the players above are definitely in the order they are ranked for us by Ford. When I had us winning the #1, it had us taking Smart. I could never find a mix that had us taking McLemore, but I have to assume he is #2.

It has us taking Len when Noel is available....

I can't determine where Noel falls precisely from the 30 or 40 times I ran it, but I can say that he definitely falls below Smart and Len (and probably McLemore). He was never available in the scenarios where we grabbed Porter, Shabazz, or Oladipo, so I can't say where he falls in there.

You'd think since he is young he wouldn't have that big of a head yet. It's a team sport, I don't care how old you are.

I really wish Chad would release his draft boards for each team (which they clearly used for this tool).

Id be happy with Otto or Shabbaz. Shabbaz just has a higher ceiling. Otto does really remind me of Rudy Gay.

I've watched Shabazz play in about 10 games this season and he is way too sporadic. He has some terrific games and then he is god-awful. I also don't think a kid with his type of ego would be all that excited about playing in NOLA. There are many other players would be much better fits here than a Los Angeles kid who likes the LA/Vegas lifestyle.

We saw how much Reggie Bush fit in down here and you have version 2 with Shabazz.

According to Draft Express his weaknesses are:

Explosiveness
Rebounding Ability
Defensive Impact
Turnover Prone

No thanks

Really? People have been telling him he was great, probably since he was in the 8-10 y/o range. I'd love a Porter selection, I think he could a great glue guy, to fill gaps. But, young and being arrogant are not mutually exclusive, in fact they usually make quite the pair.
