Why?

He’s old and injured a lot and is repetitive with CJ.

Why would we want to try what’s already failed in Portland?

I don’t think CJ finally left Dame just to bring him with him

You have a good point and no way it works financially but I wouldn’t call there time in Portland a failure. Making and advancing in the playoffs that often over that many years is very hard to do and they deserve respect for what they accomplished in Portland.

Are you aware of a thing called a salary cap

Why?

The Dames-CJ combo was a defensive liability, as Jrue pointed out when we swept them.

We are better off keeping CJ as a combo guard, mainly at point, then either finding a young guy or getting cheap depth to supplement him.

No it wouldn't. I swear some of you people don't understand how the salary cap is designed. The Pels have 3 stars, they also have a top 5 defensive specialist that is going to command big money when his contract comes up.. and he's a rook. The pels need to hit on draft picks now, they can't make big trades and FA signings without breaking up a solid core (that when together are 10-2 WITHOUT Zion). No player in the league is worth breaking up this group and destroying the chemistry. There are players better than BI and CJ but do you really want to have to cheer for punks like Jokic or Luka? Sure Giannis or Embiid would be great but lets put that in the category of never going to happen. I like our team, I want to see them grow through solid draft picks and getting rid of Graham!

We don’t have the money or the need. This team just needs its superstar PF healthy to take that step from up and coming to a legitimate threat. I can see them doing some small deals for role players off the bench like trying to get out from Graham’s deal or finding more length and shooting at the guard spots off the bench but this team is already bought in and that’s the real tough part with such a young team. CJ made all the difference.

I think CJ is happy to be out from Lillard’s shadow

IN THEORY:
Lance (to 3rd team)
Graham
Temp
Kira
Lakers 1st Rounder (after the draft so money counts towards trade)

... would work for Dame.

Hard to argue against Dame - CJ - BI - Zion - Val w/ Herb - Alvardo - TM3 - Marshall - Hayes + VETS signed (MLE, BAE) being title favorite.
