Strolling their message boards, it’s universally agreed it was a massive overpay on their part. Some think it will be one of the worse trades of all time if the Freak leaves. It was also stated that most believe Jrue is just marginally better than Bledsoe but apparently Bledsoe in the playoffs is the ying to playoff Rondos yang. They can’t afford another early exit that Bledsoe was a huge part of.
Not really our issue since we just trying to get in the playoffs.

Most understood the reason for the trade, generational talent so have to shoot your load to try and keep him but most wanted to wait till the deadline for a better deal. Esp considering the assets they parted with.

Just wanted to point out how good it feels to finally have a gm that’s bending over other teams for a change instead of Demps taking it deep every time.

this meme should die

Demps's reputation would look a LOT better if we weren't incredibly unlucky with injuries

People use to say the same thing about Kyle Lowry.

He won the Ryan Anderson trade with the Magic. I think that might be the only one I could say definitively

giannis is signing his supermax on day one, they would not have made these trades if that were not the case

Demps was good at the marginal trades like turning Juju into Belinelli and so forth.

Some of the shite he did was downright baffling. The single biggest transaction that fricked us, IMHO, was the trade for Tyreke Evans because we sent out assets for someone who couldn’t shoot and it cost us Robin Lopez for cap reasons, which meant other stupid moves down the road to fill that spot.

How many guys have signed their Supermax? Main ones I can think of are Wall and Lillard, with Wall being a huge mistake by the team.

Imagine if the Pels had given up that kind of draft capital for Boogie. That's basically what the Bucks did, they went all in for the best Hail Mary available. The Pels got unlucky with injuries with Boogie, I think DoItBig could have worked out, but that just highlights how hard it is to build a contender.

The Bucks couldn't not make this trade, hopefully it works out for us both, the Bucks get a title before things fall apart and they have to do a Brooklyn style rebuild with no assets.

I agree but the trades that make a difference for improving your end of the bench dont make a difference.
He had the same exact opportunity as Griffin has now and blew it. Had numerous assets from trading a disgruntled superstar to begin a rebuild with a generational talent on a rookie contract and failed miserably.

He clearly won the trade to get Jrue from the Sixers.

Two picks that ended up being Noel and payton? Yeah I'd say that was a win. Even tho jrues first few years here were injury filled. It played out good for us.

When considering leverage and market the Lakers and Bucks overpaid, but similarly if the Bucks win this year it could also be true it was worth it. I'm hoping for that result for Jrue.

I’m not as convinced. Jrue came over as injured goods, was hurt for years before he finally got healthy after signing his contract with us. Majority of fans preferred to let him walk b/c it was a major gamble with his health at the time.

And those might not have been the players we chose. We picked Noel specifically for the sixers. Supposedly Demps was very high on the Greek Freak that draft. Maybe he moves down some and drafts him. Still think we won that trade if he drafted him instead of trading for Jrue?

We got a better return for him than we gave up 7 years ago. Yes we won that trade.

And if everyone knew Giannis was going to be this good, he would have been the first pick. Can’t play revisionist history like that when thinking if we won the trade or not.

I’m just saying, you are doing the same thing. You don’t know who we would have drafted those two drafts.
And those were two lottery picks. The picks from the bucks might all be in the late 20s.

Two lottery picks are worth a lot more than 3 late 1st round draft picks. So you don’t know yet if we got more now than back then. Won’t know until it all plays out.

It’s not cut and dry that we definitely won the Jrue trade.

Didn't even really win that "trade." It was a FA signing. He just sent Ayton to Magic to create a TPE for them in return. They could have just signed Anderson outright.

Asik doesn't happen if you don't trade RoLo to get Tyreke.

yep, losing Robin Lopez sent us in a downward spiral during Demps tenure.
