Bold prediction: Pels will lose in the play in tournament

And Willie Green will be fired!!
Posted on 4/4/24 at 7:14 am to lsu4life77
Willie Green should be fired if we’re not in the 2nd round truly being competitive for the WCF.
It’s clear around the league how deep and talented we are. If he hasn’t been able to make it work thus far, no reason to believe he will

That should be the overwhelming favorite outcome. I’ve seen this movie before.

It's just crazy how detached from reality people can be. Green has done a great job this year and is one of the rising star coaches in the league. He wouldn't last a week if we fired him. Then who's taking the job? Who can do a better job?
Oh yeah, let's promote Borrego, who had 4 straight losing seasons, never had a winning season and is almost 50 games under .500. But I'm sure others will want to steal Spoelstra, cause that's realistic..

Lol your takes are so bad. You shite on Zion but then act like Green has done a great job this year?? He wouldn’t last a week??! I can tell you his next gig would be as an assistant. Opposing coaches are not stupid, they see the schemes and call it out.
Borrego had a winning season in his last season and is not 50 games under .500. Before making shite arse takes- check your facts. No one said anything about stealing Spo- thats just another dumbass extreme take.
Acting like it’s impossible to find another coach better than Green is based exactly on what? Did you feel this way with Gentry and Monty too? What exactly makes Green irreplaceable???

When bmark is vouching for you its time to let them go,

The current bracket has you go against the Kings, who the Pels just match up well against, and then face Minnesota as the 1 seed, which is one of the preferred 1st round match ups most people here wanted anyway.
Before everyone assumes the worst based on seeding, you just have to see how it shakes out. Kings, Minnesota, then hope the Clippers take out the Mavs is probably as clean a path as the Pels would get to the WCF.

Bro I love your postivity, but it would be nothing short of a miracle if this team made it to the WCF. They show time and time again under pressure filled situations against good teams they struggle. Im just praying we get out of the play-in.

I'm not saying it would be a cake walk, I'm saying that probably would be the easiest path. I do think the Pels have proven to be a horrible matchup for the Kings and a bad matchup for the Clippers. I think it's a toss up with Minnesota without KAT.
Every other path would end badly for the Pels
Nuggets - No
OKC - Only if you leaned into your advantage at center which isn't happening with Willie
Mavs - On paper you could hang because you have Herb and Dyson, but in the playoffs the stars shine and Luka and Kyrie are really good, so I have my doubts if Herb and Dyson even slow them down.
Suns - Maybe if Booker pulls a hamstring again.
I don't even want to think about non Kings PlayIn match ups.

Yes. I believe he has had a great year.

is not 50 games under .500.
You are right, 45 games under is not the same thing as 50. But he's still never had a season as good as the one Greens having now.

Nothing. But he's not the problem and a new coach doesn't fix the fundamental flaws of the team. It's poor roster construction and inexperience, for him too. He's a young coach and he is learning. He 43 years old. Coaches get better with time. You want to start again with someone just as inexperienced? Or some retread that can't control the locker room?

Lol that’s just a lie.

Yeah meaning you don’t understand coaching goes beyond wins and losses.

Its 35 games under .500 but keep lying.
His best years in Charlotte, with a less talented group was play-in. Where do you think we’re positioned now??

Part of the major flaws are lack of identity and bad coaching.
Hes young is a cop out. Mazzula, Daiegnault, and Taylor Jenkins are all younger and have easily been more successful.
Someone inexperienced doesn’t mean they’re bad like Ive shown you above. You assume youth in coaching automatically means inept coaching- not a good assumption.
Control the locker room? What does that even mean? You think these guys aren’t adults who want to compete and need a babysitter??

Friendly reminder that we’ve gone from 4th to 7th in the space of a week… due to a bunch of home games that we couldn’t take care of =)

Us winning more games in each of 3 seasons is all Willie and has nothing to do with Zion going from 0 to 29 to 70 games played!!!

At this point, I think we have enough data to know that, while sure matchups can help, it doesn't matter who we play 1 through 4, it would be quite surprising if we won a playoff series.

From 4th to play in... great job by Willie and his crew of inconsistent shooters who have a problem defending certain opponents.

Have we all forgotten the injuries to two key players…they’ll be back fellas

Pels beat SanAntonio, then win three out of the last 5 to grab the sixth seed. Match up with the TWolves best of 7.

This would be the only way Willie is fired.
Unfortunately, if we end up as the 7th seed, we’d likely play the Kings. We own the Kings. We would beat their arse and then get swept by Denver. And our idiot front office would still see that as a win and re-sign Willie
