Talks about how Tobias could be the free agent we need to win now. Did not realize Tobias has such a laid back personality which will fit great with what we are trying to do here.

Decent article, no major surprises, just a good lunch read

For those who want to see a glimpse of the kind of dude Tobias is, go watch the B/R draft coverage on YouTube with him and Josh Hart. Harris seems like a really good dude who just wants to win and compete. Personality wise he’d be a good fit for what we’re going for

Hart will be everyone's best friend if were to guess. Just seems like an awesome personality to be around.

Hart is going to be a fan favorite here for a long time. Great guy to bring into this locker room, bringing in Harris only amplifies the culture Griffin is building and sends a message to the league that we aren’t the same Pels/Hornets of old. It’s time for small market to shove it to the Los Angeles/New York’s of the world

We talked about Harris vs Horford in the other thread, but if the front office is having this debate, then I think the result depends on what exactly they think they are getting out of Hayes this year.

If Hayes can give the team a solid 15 minutes per game this season without hurting the team, and if you can live with Okafor playing 15 minutes a game, then Zion only has to play 18 minutes per game at center, which I think is fine.

If you can't get 15 minutes per game from Hayes, then you really have to address the center position in free agency, and that will likely prevent us from signing Harris, unless you think that you can get a center some other way (like maybe a trade with Moore).

If we sign Harris and do nothing else what would the starting lineup look like? Sees like we would have a lot of wing players.

A problem I would be happy to have. Mashburn was the last time we had a SF worth a shite IIRC

Traditional Lineup:
Ball
Jrue
Ingram
Zion
Hayes

Harris/Elf/Twan/Hart/Okafor Bench Mob aint bad imo

Small:
Jrue
Hart
Ingram
Harris
Zion

You think Ingram beats out Harris at the 3?

Depends on the matchup really I'd imagine. You could argue either way depending on what guy they would be facing on the defensive end.

A guy that's big for a SF and / or a big offensive threat in post / rebounding (Basically your star SFs around the league)? Give me Harris for his thickness @ 235lbs vs Ingram at 190lbs.

A guy that is less of a threat on the offensive side? Ingram all day long, especially if you can find other ways to hide him on defense or if he improves dramatically on that side.

It is a good problem to have IMO, and he's probably the best FA we could hope to get. Veteran presence, solid on both sides of the ball, tall, big, athletic. I would be very very happy with Harris, but I suspect he is going to get a max, and does Griffin really want to tie up money in Harris at 27 when Ingram is 23 and about to need a deal? I wouldn't think so. only way is a 2+1 overpay maybe.

There is a reason why Griff wanted a lot of cap space. I hope it is because he wants to have a win now mentality so we are not relying on Zion on doing everything.

He also made a comment that Zion is not here to save us.

This is the best time to sign a big contract while Jrue is under contract and Zion is just starting his rookie deaL
With all that said I think Griff will ATLEAST sign Harris or Lopez.

I would not want to give him the max.

Wait, you think it's a lock we get either Brook Lopez or Tobias Harris?

Harris is likely going to get the max from someone, lots of cap space this offseason.
