He should have to be fair. Dragic was essentially a more efficient scorer this year from last (and a less efficient passer) while AD improved across the board.

Our record is what cost him this award, let's be honest. So, thank you Monty?

ETA: AD missed 15 games this year too. Though, again, with a better record, he's probably not sitting as much.

how much of AD's improvement was from more minutes though? I mean he obviously improved but he was exactly terrible last year

Not looking at per minute averages. Outside of his rebounding percentage/steals (which remained status quo) his advanced stats are up across the board. Literally. Dragic dipped in some areas way more than Davis did.
