we're bottom 3 with ATL & probably LAL (only because half are celebrities, front runner or Kobe fans that don't know much about basketball)

Nah. I'd put Bucs, Wizards, maybe Jazz and Nuggets at the very least below the Pels. Along with ATL. I don't know about LAL.

Other fan bases aren't as shitty when they're team isn't a title contender. We may not be bottom 3 but I'd still put us there. I'm not sure Brooklyn even has fans. It's easy to be a great fan base when the team is winning. Even though Gentry hasn't been the greatest coach, y'all were ready to fire him 15 games into the season last year when we had injury issues all year. Way more support for football.

We are definitely among the 3 worst fanbases in the NBA, and I feel like most would name us last

Ignorant post. Watch Utah home playoff games next week - their fans are twice as good as NO fans.

Milwaukee fans are smarter but probably closest comparison to NO. Denver and Washington both better fans than No.

We've been in the city for less than 20 years, had one of the shittiest owners the sport has seen in Shinn when he got here. Were owned by the NBA. Now we have a spender with arguably the worst top to bottom structure in the entire league. What do you want from the fans realistically? Our STH numbers go up annually despite no W-L progress to show for it really. Next year will be year 7 from me and I consider myself a pretty passionate and die-hard fan. It gets realllllly old after awhile to be playing meaningless games starting as early January. We aren't that bad. The team has given zero consistency for the public to latch onto. Worse, we are blowing prime years of support opportunity with the Saints underperforming with a generational QB. I've been in that building when we are good. You won't see a half filled lower bowl if we're playing for seeding instead of a home run shot at the 8th seed like other teams. Bottom 3? No way.

I was comparing this board to some of the other sports boards on tbis site. I never said we weren't passionate.

My point was that the average poster here is better informed than the average poster on most if not all of the other sports boards on this site.

And generally, the discussion on Pels talk is generally more intelligent and informed relative to those other boards.

It's also by far the most civil. When someone gets lambasted on Pels talk the chances are he was asking for it.

This is my personal favorite board on TD for actually talking sports, because the posters are adults who usually know enough about the game to have an informed opinion, whhch often leads to intelligent discussion.

It's a compliment to you and the other regulars here. If all of TD functioned like Pels Talk it would be a far more fun message board.

again, it depends on how you define "best fans," but when NOLA is in the playoffs, our fans are some of the best as well. should we be defining best when it's playoff time or best just during the course of the season?

you would know better than anyone on this board about this

Denver and Washington both better fans than No.

if you're going by attendance as a partial measure, then both of those were bottom 5 this year despite one being fringe playoff and the other being a playoff team. washington is a transplant town...their fans are bound to be nowhere near as loyal. denver is quickly becoming the same.

Pels have a solid IQ because there are few of us. I feel like those that watch are mainly diehards.

Attendance and noise will go up with winning. If the team becomes good it will be one of the best home crowds in the NBA

Give us a 4 year run starting next year with Boogie and The Brow and I can't wait to prove everyone wrong.

I love how people think that there can be a Death Valley in BR and a Dome Court Advantage yet have a hard time grasping those same people * gasp* could be actually as loud for the Pels.

Also, for all this rah rah talk, LSU and Saints fans are as spoiled and fair weather as they come lately. Maybe it's easier to piss on little brother than face facts.
