I've personally made several claims that our current road trip is our final opportunity to make a statement, but I'm here to say I was wrong. First and foremost, a spark is needed, period.

Our schedule to date is 3rd toughest. We're still only 4 games out of 8th despite some ugly, pathetic losses to the hot garbage of the NBA.

Phoenix's record suggests they're better than they actually are, with the 2nd easiest SOS in the West thus far. That changes now however, their next 8 are: POR, HOU, LAC, WAS, CHI, GSW, MEM, POR. They will probably lose 5-6 of those.

As for OKC, we've seen in the past, recent past actually, how much that team struggles when they're missing just one of their core. Obviously I'm not wishing injury upon anyone, but it happens and its part of the game. Now if Durant, Westbrook, or Ibaka happen to go down at some point, they become extremely vulnerable.

On top of all of that, given our unpredictable outcomes, I personally feel just as confident in our guys beating the Western powers as I do vs the cellar teams. If we can find a way to play together night in and night out, its fair to say we can win 80% of our remaining games.

LETS GOOO!!

Remaining SOS:

No reason for optimism. It's over.

No it was the home stand we're heading into.

And that spark would be the run we are supposed to be making right now. It's not too late, but 5 games over .500 has always been my target for the end of January, but you need to win 6 straight to make that happen. 1 of the next 6 is on the road (Minny) and 2 are against Western Playoff teams (Dallas/Clippers) that made us look young and silly the last time we played them.

I don't care if it's Monty or someone else coaching, but if we don't get out of January 26-21 any hope of making the playoffs this year dies.

All of that was under the assumption that we make a coaching change. Hence the "spark is needed" in my OP. I'm just not ready to give up, love the game, love the NBA, love my Pelicans.

What we need is for Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday to stop missing winnable games when they're only dinged up. fricking be smart... grit it out against Philly, Boston, NYK.

If they need to rest, rest versus the Warriors, Grizzlies, Spurs, and Mavericks. We're probably going to lose those anyhow. We just left 3 wins on the table for no reason.

Pragmatism is more useful in the NBA than any other sport (see: Spurs, San Antonio and their resting players strategically). We're fricking retarded sitting AD when he can by all accounts play in winnable games.

And we need Gyno Anderson to start playing like a top 20 sniper in the league. He has been fricking garbage, so either get a new team shrink to help the moping dude with his guilt issues or sit his arse until he gets going again.

Did the saints give your seats back to you?

No, Mike Stanfeld stole them from me and they never showed up on the Saints resale chart that was launched to much fanfare in July or so. He stole them and probably gave them to friends or took them himself. They clearly never hit the public market, because I had first session priority and I saw that my old seats were NOT on that Superdome map. Despite the fact that I have been a Saints ticket holder since 1997 and has as many as 25 season tickets as far back as 2004 when nobody wanted them. As a result, I cancelled my 12 Pellies season tickets as well. It really affected my lifelong Saints fan hood - I used to go to 3-6 road games per year and this year I only made 1. It just doesn't feel the same.

He probably did. I fricking hate him. It essentially negated the money I made from switching jobs and getting a better title last year. So basically I'm working 20 hours a week more and netting the same profits.

Don't remind me that we have to find a way to win 80% of our remaining games

Be honest, who saw the Trailblazers, Warriors, Hawks, Thunder as the NBA's best when they claimed their spots? We have what they have, (less the coach of course), but the point is, it happens so fast in this league. Teams can go from bottom to top much quicker than anywhere else. We all just need to ride it out and our time will come fellas.

Eta. I personally had my eye on them despite the lack of media respect because they had what we have, a young quality core. We own the future of the NBA for 7 more years
