that "Somebody Get Me a Doctor" is never mentioned? I started listening to VH in high school. My first introduction was their debut, then like most teens I moved from there to 1984. I then listened to a smattering of the rest from then to adulthood.

The more I listen to it, "Somebody Get Me a Doctor" off their 2nd album Van Halen II (1979) is one of the most perfect hard rock songs ever, and definitely one of VH's best. For starters, it's short (under 3 minutes) so if you're just trying to tell someone about the genre, this is a good first intro since it doesn't' take much time.

It has a badass intro, good pace, nice interlude for when you're fricked up, nice ending. For my money, that guitar is the best on any song they've done. So back to my original question..how come Panama and Jump and other shite like that are their popular songs and this perfection piece is never heard of?

"Atomic Punk" can be added as well. The deeper cuts are the best VH jams.

Neither is Mean Street, which has an awesome guitar intro.
