A tad obscure to the mainstream (not to us and not to Sunset):

Shark Island
L.A. Guns
XYZ
Britny Fox
Faster Pussycat
W.A.S.P.
Stryper

Also, who was the worst?

Motley's first two albums are hard to top.
Ratt's early stuff was great as well

Far as not as popular good stuff? Babylon AD, Wicked Jester, Love/Hate, and I am sure a bunch I can't think of off the top of my head.

Worst? Anything that came out after 88. Danger Danger comes to mind with awesome lyrical hits such as Naughty Naughty and Bang Bang... jeez they sucked. Also, Extreme, Trixter and a bunch of shite bands like that.

Also, as much as I love early WASP their later albums were their best Crimson Idol is one of the best albums ever made IMO.

The worse was at the tail end of the Hair Metal scene was when MTV tried to make Nelson a Hair Metal Band. I think this is when MTV killed the goose that laid the golden egg on the Hair Metal Scene.
As bas as Trixter and Firehouse was I could barely tolerate them but in no way or form could I accept or listen to the Nelson twins.

Motley Crue's

To Fast For Love EP, Shout At the Devil, Theatre Of Pain, Girls, Girls, Girls, and Dr.Feelgood are very good albums.

One of their best songs Primal Scream was released on their first greatest hits albums Decade of Decadence...

Great White was also very good LA Strip Band.

Thanks...glad everyone stuck to the script and mentioned Motley Crue and RATT, who were not in this particular equation. The post had nothing to do with either of them. It was simply about being the best of that group that I provided.

First off, frick You!!!

Second, your list is shite and there are only 2 non-mainstream bands in your list to begin with anyway: Shark island and XYZ.

+1000 Awesome album that never really circulated. It is by far their best and a great concept album.

Dipshit. I realize who was WHO in LA sunset bands. I get it. And you are getting offended in a ridiculous way. I know every band I named. I realize the "list" was not the "A List". I did not include GNR, Crue, etc. for a reason. Jesus, it's not difficult. Also, realize what I wrote and the point I was after. OF THE MENTIONED BANDS, WHO WAS BEST? WHO WAS WORST? THEY VERY WELL MAY ALL BE BAD, BUT READ AND RESPOND. STOP JUST RESPONDING.

And they're shite huh? LA Guns and Faster Pussycat suck eh? What do you do besides roll Toomer's Poisonous Corner? What's your resume'?

The idea is simple. I list a bunch of mainstream-obscure bands in hopes that people will respond with intelligence. What do I get? "Motely Crue, man. They were there, maaaaaan." Well, no shite.

Why don't you get really worked up about people not perfectly complying with the instructions provided in your rather banal thread?

As I said before all the bands you posted but 2 are NOT obscure and were mainstream in the genre they performed in. How hard is that to comprehend? So with that being said, why are you the only arse in this thread that has a problem with people mentioning other mainstream bands.
