Beatles sound better, and I like them a lot, even if they were a creation of the Tavistock institute.

I enjoy The Stones, and Sympathy for the Devil is one of my favorite songs of all time. I just enjoy the records The Beatles put out much more overall, especially the later ones. The White Album, Revolver, Abbey Road, Sgt. Pepper's, and Let It Be are all albums I can listen to all the way through. Lennon-McCartney was a songwriting force rarely seen. From the more popular songs like Helter Skelter and Let It Be to the lesser popular songs like Rocky Raccoon (a personal favorite) and Two of Us, there's just so much quality front to back on those albums.

Agreed completely. Though to be honest, I usually skip anything Beatles that comes on Pandora because I've worn these songs and albums out so much, but I still respect them as #1 forever.

like the Stones a little better... but it's close.

Broader scope of muscial genre covered by a huge catalogue. The guys have been together, for better or worse, for over fifty years now and still rocking.

As far as members go, "cool" is very hard to pull off and fakes are easily detected. Each had a truly cool member, Keith and Ringo. The rest were just damned good role players.

Tell that to the musicians who have covered Beatles songs. LINK The number and variety of instrumental covers gives evidence that the Beatles were appreciated as more than just Pop artists. Their music was inspirational to other artists. It's a pity you have no appreciation for the excellence so many others recognize.

Eh, not a pity at all. I've given them plenty of chances. I just don't like them, and I'm not going to try convince myself I like them under the auspices that I'm supposed to like them. I've never been 'inspired' to pay money for songs they've written.
