Dunlop CryBaby wah. Pretty much the standard.

I liked it but I've never been overly impressed with it. Thinking about the Ibanez WH10. I played one briefly and liked it ok enough. Anyone else have any experience with them?

Dunlop makes a bunch of different ones - the JH1D (Jimi Hendrix) gets some get press, but they're proud of it.

I don't play a lot of electric, but Rocktron seems pretty well made.

Second on the Vox. The 847 reissues sound really good. See Jonny Lang for proof.

I have had Crybaby B95 Original, the 535Q (sweet wah), the Zakk Wylde model, and now I currently own a Budda Wah. The Budda is better than all of them as it sounds more "musical". It doesnt get harsh in the high frequency or muddy in the low frequency. Its a very subtle sweep and I think accents what your fingers are doing instead of masking them like the Crybaby's do. The one wah that I have my eye on that I tried out a few months ago is the Bonamassa Crybaby. It sounds pretty fantastic.

Budda Wah - Ebay

I agree with the Vox wah's that were posted as well. It's what a wah is supposed to sound like.

I'm with you on that. I don't play on it much anymore, but I used to think the range was too high--not enough sweep down low and a little too much scream up top. VOX is the other big name, but I haven't played one.

Tell ya what I don't like is that Steve Vai crazy horse or whatever wah. It's activated by stepping on a button on the side of the pedal, then you have to get your foot on the actual pedal to use it. It's nearly impossible to time those two steps correctly on a beat. Also, the pedal itself is spring loaded to always stand up tall, so you really only need to depress it down. It feels terrible. The whole thing is shite.

VOX wah. I've had it for 4 years now, still no problems.

Yeah, it's just so.....blah.

I have no idea how to describe it. The low end just gets muddy and farts out. Doesn't do much for me.

The only one I have used, so I guess I don't know any better, lol.

Bold part is not true though. It does have a contour wah button, but it works as more of an over drive feature. Don't have to use it.
