Thanks. I inherited it. My grandfather built the cabinet out of solid Koa while living in Hawaii. He replaced the original stereo with this one in the early 70s I think. I made the speakers (only one shown)

That is a sweet cab. I see you have the wood cab for the receiver and it matches the rest perfect. Did you sand and stain it.

It's all luck I guess. The stereo is slid in from the rear and butted up against the koa trim ring. If I remember the body of the radio is metal with a wood pattern, but it isn't a real wood shell. The speakers I veneered with rosewood and the danish oil finish matched pretty closely.

I recently bought my first turntable, an Audio-Technica from FYE for about $80. It's definitely not the best, but it's a great entry level turntable. I've had it for about 5 months, and it's worked great so far. I have it hooked up to a Sherwood reciever and two Pioneer bookshelf speakers. It's pretty low end, but it works well. I plan to upgrade soon though.
