Trying to think out of the box, and staying away from the usual mainstays, the first thing that popped into my head, probably because I just listened to the record the other day, is Low’s track “John Prine” off their album Trust. if memory serves, the album is a 100% all analog recording. It just feels absolutely massive. Showing off your system’s low end specifically.

Most of Low’s music, especially their earlier albums, is perfect to show off your HiFi rig…if you get tired of the usual boomer era audiophile delights , and the jazz mainstays. Their music is typically very slow, deliberate and precise.

Also, Blake Mill’s 2020 album Mutable Set is a more modern album that sounds absolutely incredible, both the recording & music.

Finally I’ll throw in this Bill Callahan track “Jim Cain” from his 2009 album Sometimes I Wish We Were an Eagle. I love this album, and this track specifically, and it really makes my setup shine.
