Anybody here taken the journey in listening to this genre? (DJ Shadow, Kool Keith aka Dr. Octagon, etc)?

I never get tired of it, I love the blend of drums, samples (movie quotes & beats) ....just the overall ambiance of the music.

Psychience Fiction is such a great album. Thoughts from those that have heard it, or decide to listen ? Here's a link to one of the albums.

Psyience Fiction (DJ Shadow & James Lavelle)

Cameos by Mike D (beastie boys), singer from the verve (Richard Ashcroft, etc)

I really dug the first album, especially the track with Mike D. But I never got the second one

Eye for an eye is a great track. And so is "In a State", on the 2nd one

DJ Shadow - Entroducing is one of the illest albums of all time creatively.

Yeah dog.
Huge fan of kook Keith.
Watch the doc "scratch"
It shows how dj shadow finds music to sample.
Also on endtriducing, there's a sample of nirvana....for the life of me I cannot find it on the album.

I loved a lot of UNKLE's productions

UNKLE feat. The Black Angels- Natural Selection

Absolute all time bager here
UNKLE and DJ Shadow W/ Root Manuva- GDMFSOB

One more from my favorite UNKLE EP

UNKLE- The Time Has Come

If you can find the entire Time Has Come EP, I would highly suggest listening to that in its entirety.

Lots of work out there with DJ Shadow, Portishead, and Massive Attack

A time in my life I was in LOVE with the trip-hop genre

First album was legit! I still spin it at times. I didn't realize they have done anything since, so I need to check them out.

DJ Shadow is one of the best in the business. He did a project with Ryuiki Sakamoto that was gold.

I must of missed it..I've listened a thousand times & don't think I've heard it. Could be so obscure & quick tho that didn't catch it. He packs em in like that

I'm gonna peep out all those y'all listen I may have missed.

Shadow even did a track with Zack De La Rocha after Rage ATM broke up. Weird thing was, ZDLR was doing the drum kit IIRC.

Shadows kills it on Solesides too. His scratching is legendary

You probably mixed it in your head like a straight up G ... Remember nights way back when where I would be able to put a song on top of another song in my head and it would sound like I was listening to it on headphones. Real psychic kinda shite
