Matthewman is the sax player for Sade, and Vanessa Bley has the prototypical smoky white girl Jazz voice. It's a great combination, if you are so inclined to such music.
Great stuff.

He's a very talented dude. Love his work with Sade. He and the other guys from the band started their own project called Sweetback. They released a couple albums.

New album out today. Incredible.

I wish Paul S. Denman (the bass player for Sade) would release more music with the exact type of bass groove as Sade but with a different female singer.
I was not a fan of Sweetback. He chose a different style.
His style with Sade is incredibly groov-a-licious. The bass is nasty hot.

Agree on all counts.
Sade is in my top three bands all time. Sweetback was kind of like that girl that is really kind of almost sorta cute, but you aren't quite sure. They were just missing something.
Twin Danger is what Sade would have been had they gone full jazz. I've listened to the new album about 3-4 times, and it gets better every time.
***For those who don't know, "Sade" is the name of the band, not the singer. Her name is Helen Folasade Adu.***

I wanted to like them because of the band members but they just didn't have the magic like Sade.
Something special happens when all original members of Sade create an album.
The magic is lost when they attempt side projects.

Yeah, I love some of those songs had three/four different bass parts playing at once. Funky as hell
