Truly underrated album - "Phrazes for the Young"

By Julian Casablancas. I always have been a big fan of The Strokes, but this album goes beyond garage rock and post-punk and is just such a masterpiece. I can't believe it didn't get more attention.

Its really good, has a great overall sound to it.

Because of that record I had no idea they had released one since. I just looked it up and saw they had, so I need to check that one out too

I actually liked Angles.

This album is in my top 10 for sure. It's incredible. I was actually pissed when Julian went back with the strokes because he wouldn't be making more music like Phrazes.

Come Down Machine was more of a continuation of Julian's solo work. It sounded very 80s new waveish to me. I do like CDM better than Angles though.

Nothing will ever beat that album for them. Easily one of the best records ever. CDM is good too, just different.
