I really got out of these guys (and this type of music) a while ago, but started listening to their newer stuff in the gym the other day and was impressed. They've really gotten better with every new album they've done. They also don't seem whiny and bitchy in their lyrics like a lot of other bands of that genre.

I really liked Ascendancy. It had some sick guitar work on it. I gave up on them after not getting into their subsequent few albums.

They're always good gym music. I put my Pandora on the As I Lay Dying channel and get in the zone.

Ascendancy was amazing. You can listen to that cover to cover without a hitch. They really declined after that although In Waves was ok. For some reason they strayed from that initial style and it turned out poorly for them. Crusade and Shogun were meh at best.

Saw them in April. Their latest album was fine. The one before that was an abortion (Vengeance Falls). The ones before both of these were their best ones imo. They are still one of my favorite bands though and one of the bands that got me into metal.

Really? You thought so? I've been listening to it off and on. Not as good as "In waves" but pretty solid IMO. I'm actually taking some time to get into the newest album. Not loving it thus far.

Yeah. I thought it was horrible. Doesn't even come close to In Waves, Ascendancy, Shogun, or Ember to Inferno.
