I was actually surprised the list had as many decent songs as it did. And I'm not complaining about a beach boys number one spot.

list still sucks, but better than most.

Where does one even find the time to begin to put a list like this together?

Some of it looked incredibly random.

Pretty good varied list that has some personality. It wouldn't be my list, and I doubt "Man in the Mirror" would be in my top 10 Michael Jackson songs much less top 10 of all time.

Though I agree about the lack of CCR. "Fortunate Son" is scientifically proven to be the greatest rock song ever recorded.

To be fair the Otis Redding song listed is one hell of a song.

I agree that for a 100 best of all time list it's a pretty crappy list.

15. Jackson 5 – “I Want You Back”

This could easily be a top 5, in combination with A,B,C. Timeless pop songs from a golden era of music, that haven't aged at all. I'd also throw in The Beach Boys' Good Vibrations as one that should certainly be ranked higher.

Other than minor gripes, I can't really complain about the list. Obviously mine would look different, but it has a mix on genres and time periods, as any good list should.

Crap list

Music is way to individual to have a best ever list. Unless its by record sales alone

I like The Knife,

I saw this and thought "Holy shite, they actually chose a fantastic song." Then I realized they were talking about the band.

Just browsed the list: no Genesis, but In the Air Tonight is included..... If they did include Genesis, it probably would have been Land of Confusion, anyway.

What's wrong with In the Air Tonight? That's a fantastic song that has a great amount of menace in it, despite being a pop song. And Collins' solo work is not all that different from Genesis' late career stuff (though clearly different than Peter Gabriel era Genesis). I don't get the distinction thinking that Invisible Touch is great but Sussido is crap.

What kind of psychic abilities did the guys in Genesis have?

such an appropriate name for a group that spawned so much good music through the years

I think its a case of its cool to hate Phil Collins.

I picked up No Jacket Required on vinyl the other day and Phil beasts on it.

Yeah, these lists are subjective and dumb but this one is particularly lame.
