I'm Still Here
I Hope That I Don't Fall in Love with You
The Heart of Saturday Night
Step Right Up
Time
Jersey Girl
Shiny Things

I'm a big fan of his recent three disc collection. I love his ballads. Some of his out-there stuff is just too bat-shite crazy, but I still love Waits. He's one of the greatest.

Man, theres so many great songs....but if I had to pick just one, I'd say my favorite is the one where he sounds all raspy and like he's smoked way too many cigarettes. Dat's my jam.

Been wanting to get into his stuff for a while now and this thread prompted me to make a playlist based on everyone's suggestions. So far I'm a big fan. Thanks Music Board.

You really can't go wrong with any of his stuff. I know it is cliche ,but it really does grow on you. You can listen to any of his albums and think that a track is meh one day and then the best song on the album the next. The albums Swordfishtrombones, Rain Dogs, and Franks Wild Years are a trilogy. Anything before that will be more of his piano based stuff, anything after that will be more experimental.

Great early Tom list. Poncho's Lament is an awesomely random choice.

i haven't got the chance to get into much of his later stuff, aside from a random tune here or there. i need to get on that asap, but it will be later rather than sooner, i'm afraid

I've been listening to Mule Variations alot, and I love it. You can't end an album better than "Come On Up to the House"

All of his albums are great in one way or another. I seriously do not have one I dislike. I will say it took the longest for me to "get" his two theatrical albums Alice and The Black Rider, but now appreciate Waits even more for the works. Both are completely mesmerizing.

What an incredibly designed album. Tom throws "what's he building in there" as an intermission to a 14 song masterpiece.

3 years later he comes out with Blood Money and you think Satan himself has a producers credit.

One of my favorite Tom Waits songs is probably 'All The World Is Green.'

"All the World is Green" to "God's Away on Business" to "Another Man's Vine" is one of my favorite 3 song combos off of any album.

Blood Money is such an eerie and awesome album.
