Tiger Stadium hosts a concert that isn't country... Who would it be?

Big rock concert with the biggest names I would think.
Black Keys
Muse
Coldplay
Arcade Fire
NIN
think that lineup would draw a big enough crowd to Tiger Stadium to fill it up?
What bands would you have

you'd have to throw some shitty country artists in there first before you would reach half capacity.
sir paul is one name i can think of that's currently on tour that could potentially get the place close, depending on who opened for him. but thinking back to JazzFest, the main stage when packed for the Eagles, Fleetwood, Bruce, etc., probably has 40k (complete guess) around it. And that's a cheap, major festival. Not sure any of the names you mentioned would even get 40k in there.

you don't think coldplay, black keys, muse, and radiohead or something could draw 45,000?

If you did 4 bands at 500k a piece, you would have to sell 25k tickets at 100$ to cover their fees. Right? I'm not sure if any one rock band would even sell out the river center 12000 seats.

I just don't get the appeal of having a show inside Tiger Stadium. Why not the P-Mac? Arenas traditionally have much better sound than an outdoor stadium plus the PMac has some history behind it with stuff like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.
At first I questioned Champion's Square as a music venue but after going it has an incredible backdrop with the Hyatt and other skyscrapers in the background. Combined with the stage's lightshow it really is a visually-engaging spot. Bravo.

Radiohead and Muse fit into the Voodoo Fest lineup. I don't see them shunning Voodoo for some haphazard show in a college football stadium in Baton Rouge
Coldplay, maybe. Are they even popular anymore? I don't think so.
Black Keys seem like they are all about money and would probably play it, but the crowd for just them would be far from a sell out.

the payout would be more If I had to guess being a one day event etc... but could them and a couple other bands bring the people?
I think there would be a lot of out of town fans that would come. Who else is doing stadium rock concerts with 100k capacity?

would love to see that happen.

What is good about that? 100k just means that a lot of people are going to be stuck in the nosebleeds with shitty sound and views.
Reports keep coming out about how sporting events (specifically college football) are seeing a drop in attendance because of factors like rising concession prices and the availability & comfort of HDTV in your own home. Although I don't think live music is having that problem we could see it begin to trend that way as live streams for festivals are becoming the norm.

I agree about the nose bleed... TS really does have a great sound\acoustics for concerts.

I'm pretty sure that's where Skynard was heading when their plane crashed. Maybe that gave the P Mac a bad vibe.

Lynsrd is tier 5 at best

Baton Rouge doesn't like rock music. It would have to be BTE, Molly Ringwalds, Benjy Davis, and Cowboy Mouth if you want a big crowd here.
