I have tickets for the Pixies show Saturday. Has anyone been to this venue before? Thoughts? They will be playing on the summer stage and it is opening weekend for the Jersey Shore. It looks like a dump from the outside but, I heard it was cool place to see a show.

Eta TV on the Radio will also be performing

The outdoor shows are in a fenced in area, nothing special. The indoors is dated but I love seeing shows inside.
Some would consider it a dump but I like it, no frills, just music and terrible bartenders.

I live a block from there, corner of first and Bergh. If you walk by and see us on the porch, say hello and come have a drink.
Parking will be tough if last week was any indication. If you are having trouble parking stop by and you can block my driveway.
My New Orleans flag will be flying, so you should be able to the house

I am going to take the train from Red Bank. ($5) I will definitely look for your house. It will be nice to see a fleur de lis!

The train is the smart way and it's not a bad walk from the train station. We walk up that way to see shows at The Saint and to eat at some Mexican joints on Main.
Btw, the Saint has some good shows and the sound is really good in there. Eric Lindell is playing there at some point this summer

Good to know. Thanks for all of the info. I just moved here 3 months ago from laffy, and haven't seen a show yet. I have to admit, Jersey gets a bad rap. It could be the most accessible state in the country. Walk to train to NYC, 15 mins from beach, 2 hrs to pocanos, hour from philly. shite is cool.

I saw a show there a few years back, inside. I remember it being pretty hot because it was summer and there's apparently no AC. I dug the venue though

Also, just saw the Pixies on this tour in NOLA. Paz really fits in great and has a fantastic voice. You are all in for a treat

Walked the dogs this morning and watched the roadies unloading the 18 wheeler and setting up the stage.
Sound check should be in about an hour or so

Awesome show. TV on the Radio pleasantly suprised me, but the Pixies knocked it out of the park as usually. I bet you can hear the concert from your spot.

I was at the Pixies show in Cincinnati last week. It was a great rock show. No gimmicks, stagecraft, fireworks, just pure loud rock and great tunes.

Yeah we can listen from our porch. Our neighbors invited us over and we could hear it really good in their backyard.

The Wonderbar has the Empty Hearts playing, should be a good show
