Not a fan of country music but this place is a jewel. Well worth the $20 for self tour, could have spent hours if time permitted. Some places display art form, this place is art unto itself. Closed in 1974 and was very close to total demolition in the early '90s. Did not realize it held concerts again. Great job Nashville.

Don't sell them short. Many of the acts are not country.

Great place to see a concert.

Correct, always associated it solely with Grand Ole Opry until visiting. Plan to see a concert there soon. Special place for sure.

It is pretty much the perfect small venue concert hall.

The Mother Church is an amazing place. We're lucky to have it here.

Saw Mini Mansions and Tame Impala there last summer. Nice atmosphere and venue. And like others have said, a lot of the shows now are not country.

Except for the many support beams that obstruct quite a few seats its a great venue.

If you're on the balcony, sure. If not, no way. The Ryman has way too many obstructive views to be the perfect venue. You've got support beams that block the floor view. On top of that, if you have floor seats towards the back 1/4 of the seating...well...hope you enjoy staring at the artist's shoes.

My Dad worked there many times over the years. He always bragged about how good the room sounded.

The Ryman's acts are probably around 25% country.

Acoustically, the Ryman is incredible. I agree that there are issues with obstructed views on the lower level...but the sound will blow you away.

You must not pay attention to the exhibits, gift shop items or the video. But sure, rock and roll heaven it is.

Anyone can play the Ryman. I saw Alice In Chains there last August. Daniel Tosh did standup there a few years ago. It is absolutely the best venue in Nashville.

Last show(s) I saw there was Ryan Adams last April for 2 nights. Incredible venue and shows. Jason and Amanda Isbell sat in for several songs. It was amazing.

Saw Alice Cooper there in 2006. They have been having non country acts there for a long time.
