Prog GOAT
oh man, tough

I'd have to put Genesis as my GOAT, but Yes, Tull, and Floyd all have some merit.

King Crimson is probably the lowest of the Tier 1ers, I almost put them Tier 2 actually.

Can and Amon Duul II

Amon Duul II are freaking fascinating from a biographical perspective.

That can be said for a lot of the bands on here though

I mean that crap "Pink Floyd" released a few weeks ago being case in point

Yes has had tons of personnel changes and some albums that make the new Floyd sound like Meddle

Rush should be 2, maybe even 1. Your listing at 3 is a sham, baw.

What about Spirit? I feel like this band is overlooked and doesn't get enough attention

the twelve dreams of Dr. Sardonicus was an incredible album!!

That'd be very stupid, since In the Court of the Crimson King is the blueprint to progressive rock.

I would argue the first real prog album is actually Sgt Peppers

That's a reach. It certainly was a predecessor, but still a pop album at heart.

In the Court of the Crimson King was the first album that embodied progressive rock.
