I stumbled across this deal this morning. It's currently on Backorder from Amazon, but the Teac TN-300 Turntable in Red is only $199 after coupon vs the list of $399 and regular retail of $350. Promo Code MUSIC20OFF
I don't own it, but the reviews seem pretty solid. I'm not sure if it is an upgrade from my Uturn or not. May do a side-by-side and unload the loser.

Getting into audio seriously for the first time in a while. $199 doesn't seem too bad, especially since I'm basically starting from scratch with an old system. What kind of things should I look for in a turn table?

This one has a built in pre-amp which is generally frowned upon, but may work to your favor. If your existing receiver has a Phono input, it is a moot point. It it only has Aux inputs, you will need a preamp feature or separate preamp.
This one has a solid performing cartridge, good tone arm and anti-skate adjustments. Beyond that, I'd read reviews to get a feel for what you want.
