He's always had a horrible voice so this shouldnt be a shocker. Yes, that performance was awful. It still wasnt as bad or even hilarious as John Rzeznik from the Goo Goo Dolls "attempting" to sing the National Anthem for the MNF game. I knew he sucked individually as a singer (although I like some of Goo Goo Dolls music), but that may have been worst than Carl Lewis.

When did the Goo Goo Dolls sing the national anthem? I have always loved their version of "Take Me Out to The Ballgame" but it's tough to find.

Last night, right after the Springsteen debacle. Rzeznik may be the worst professional "singer" in the business. His voice is unique and decent so that makes for decent music from his group, but purely singing solo he is pretty pathetic. We were laughing last night.

It was horrible. Right after he finished the commentator said what great music they got to hear that night.

Whatever. I know there's lots of "Boss Hate" out there and to each his own. I love the guy and have seen him many times. Was this the best performance/venue for him--of course not. Just cool for them to be on stage together.

He made up for it, and damn well, with energy, charisma and power.

Thanks for adding this--this has always been the reason his IS THE BOSS and his biggest appeal in a live show--which I would highly recommend while he still tours if you've never seen it. My 18 y/o son attended with me this year at N.O. Jazz Fest. After it was done, he turned to me and simply said, "Epic".

Saw him twice. First time was the best of course.

He had the crowd in a full blown frenzy, but then ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR ripped into Cadillac Ranch. I thought the roof would blow off the Omni.

Still gives me chills.

I thought the pairing was pretty cool. The result, not so much. What it did do was make me go pull my copy of The Joshua Tree for the ride to/from work today.

Yep, that was pretty bad....no, it was really bad.

Not a big Springsteen fan, but I give him credit for stepping up to help out at the last minute. There aren't too many legends who would have taken on that task.
