Spoon - Hot Thoughts

I've been with Spoon since Telephono, but I feel like they're giving me the Radiohead treatment, now. The first two tracks they've released from their new album are very disappointing TO ME. I admire a band that does the occasional shapeshifting, but with these tracks, I can't even recognize Spoon in them anymore. Of course, Britt's vocals are still recognizable, but give me back the days of A Series of Sneaks and Girls Can Tell. Hell, I'll even take something resembling Gimme Fiction.

You can't really expect a band to release great albums for 20+ years.
They want my soul had several good tunes on it IMO. Spoon live show is also still incredible.

I thought their last album was awesome, actually.

Yeah, I really don't like the title track at all. I'll definitely give the album a listen, because Spoon.

I don't know about this one. I put on They Want My Soul and was hooked from the first ten seconds, this just doesn't do that.

I don't know what is considered "quite some time", but Built to Spill played there less than nine months ago.

of course their show sells out in my town over a month in advance, right on the day I was going to get one
