Any of y’all listen to Slaid Cleaves? Good songwriter with a solid voice. His Brokedown album is great from start to finish and I’d recommend it to anyone who likes singer/songwriter music.

love him

there is a church here in Houston that has a very good music series each year. He played their last year and I got to see him with like 150 people. He was fantastic.

This song randomly played one day on a streaming service I use. I just love the sound of it.

I’ve seen him a couple times in Nashville and have gotten to speak with him after the show both times, really nice dude that truly is talented at his craft.

Sorrow and smoke- live at the horseshoe lounge is a really good double disc, it’s captures his vibe for sure.

I used to go see him play around town about 25 years ago but haven't listened to him in a long time

It's one of my favorite songs.

He's one of the only artists I know where I do not dislike anything I have ever heard from him.

I like Slaid's music. Always have. But I do believe covid completely broke him. For starters we tried to book him for a private gig and he had such a litany of covid rules and stipulations it was insane. And this was after the world had opened back up. Then, about 18 months ago I went to a live show and he came in the place dressed like a mummy with masks, face shields and shite. He made the venue shove the tables back about 20' further from the stage before he took all that shite off and played the show. And even then the vibe he put off was of a frail, scared little man. It was really disappointing

Yikes. Does he have some kind of immuno-compromising disorder or something?

Dang, I knew he was pretty liberal but yeah sounds like the Covid really got to him, that’s too bad, happened to alot of people who are otherwise fairly intelligent.
