When they start producing music, let me know.

Who is "they"? The fact that you are clumping all jam bands into one thing shows you really have no idea what you're talking about

frickin great, love Jeff Lynne and his massive hair

I've always admired Lynne's minimalist style with low fi production values.

Him and Mutt Lange.

'abbey road' is definitely one of my favorites, and so are some of the other usual suspects like 'exile', 'wish you were here' (although i'm slightly more partial to 'animals'), 'physical graffiti', and so on. i'll probably get flamed for saying it, but queen's 'sheer heart attack' is another go-to album for me. speaking of "maxwell's silver hammer", i bet it influenced queen as much (or more) as any other beatles tune...all of the band's ingredients can be found in that one song.

Didn't read the whole thread but my votes:
Nirvana Nevermind
Weezer
Alice In Chains Dirt
Love the Beatles but they are like Obama, too much media hype.

You'll never see a better live show than Arcade Fire.

Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, Phish, Tool, String Cheese Incident, The Disco Biscuits, Tame Impala, Umphrey's Mcgee, Chromeo, John Fogerty, Thievery Corporation, STS9(before murph quit), Cut Copy, and even Lotus are all better live shows than Arcade Fire. having a shite ton of people on stage playing random instruments doesn't constitute a good "live show". arcade fire plays the same show over and over while jam bands play a completely unique setlist each night. sounds like you either haven't seen much live music or are pitiful at trolling.

Radiohead - OK Computer is the best album ever made, and it's not really even debatable.

Agree 100%

Radiohead 6.17.06 is the pinnacle of live shows that I have seen. I seriously doubt it ever is topped.
Also saw them on the 2008 In Rainbows tour and 2012 King of Limbs tour and all shows were fricking awesome.

Arcade Fire is just another over-glorified superband like Edward Sharp and the magnetic zeros. Not saying they're bad, just way over glorified.

I won't say better, but Are You Experienced certainly should be mentioned on the same level.
